Auditory Reset is a new initiative of an ongoing concert programme line presenting both rising talents with more established contemporary musicians starting from October 2022, in A Lab in Amsterdam Noord.

Each concert is planned for every second Tuesday of the month and will last approximately 30min. We are aiming for a time slot in which people just finished their work and thus starting at 18:00. The venue is suited perfectly for a chamber-sized audience. This embracing and almost intimate atmosphere will create an unusual experience for the audience with an aim to regenerate or regain energy in between their day-to-day activities. Thus, a deep concentration/mindfulness experience/reset can be achieved by listening to music of the present time.

The programme is primarily based on the series of 14 solo works composed by Luciano Berio called ‘Sequenza’ paired with other pieces for a solo performer. The solo characteristic of the compositions achieves our aim to make the performances more focused and enclosed and let the audience listen to the entire instrumental possibilities.

During the try-out period 2022 and 2023 we presented Dario Calderone, Jellantsje de Vries, Katharine Dain and Arthur Klaassens. The official series started in February 2023 with Vincent van Amsterdam and continuing with Doriene Marselje, Rares Mihailescu, Anne Gillot, Roland Daninden and finishing with Gareth Davis
