Roland is going to perform two of his pieces inspired by eminent artists of the 20st century – Luciano Berio and Jackson Pollock.
And on the 11th of July, Dutch based bass clarinetist Gareth Davis is going to close this season with Berio’s Sequenza IXc and Let me die before I wake… by Sciarrino.

The success of our try-out period and start of the official Auditory Reset 2023 season.
We have been so lucky to create such an amazing new concept of concert series with help of many wonderful organisations such as A Lab and Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ. Now we are also happy to announce that the official Auditory Reset 2023 season is going to be supported by AFK as well.
During the first four concerts we could introduce our new concept, bring in more and more audience and also started new cooperations which will open even more possibilities for the future concerts. We are making our concerts more educational, reachable and closer to the audience.
Our February concert brings a well-known Dutch accordion player Vincent van Amsterdam to play exceptional pieces by two contemporary composers – Luciano Berio and Sofia Gubaidulina. Come on the second Tuesday – the 14th – at 18:00 to the Playground in A Lab, Amsterdam. Tickets are possible to buy on the spot or via our website. Just click on the button below

Yey! Our trial period is almost at the end and we can officially continue with the rest of the season!
As you might all know, recent years were for the art field very difficult and challenging to plan and secure all the work we put into making music possible.
At the end of last year wasn’t any different and thus we were apprehensive to our programme mainly for the winter time.
We are glad that we could so far examine our aims and organise all the concerts as planned. We gained audience, expanded with more cooperations to share our concert line in the upcoming time and thus were able to make sure the whole programme of 2023 can continue without any change.
On January the 10th, our ‘trial period’ is officially finishing with a concert of a wonderful Dutch oboist Arthur Klaassens who is going to perform three short yet intriguing pieces: a premiere ‘So it Goes’ by Patrick van Deurzen, our traditional Berio’s ‘Sequenza’

The invitation to our last 2022 concert and ticket sales open for 2023!
The year 2022 is almost at the end, but we still have one last concert ahead of us. Next Tuesday, the 13th of December, we are presenting a wonderful Dutch-American singer Katharine Dain. She is going to perform Berio’s Sequenza III and song Ariel from Jonathan Dove. You can purchase tickets via our programme page.
We are also opening the ticket sales for the first four concerts in 2023. Following the usual timing, every second Tuesday of the month, from 18:00, in the Playground, A Lab in Amsterdam. Look at our programme page with more information.

The 3rd concert of Auditory Reset - last in 2022 - is in one week!
We hope you are all enjoying the festive spirit in the air and slowly preparing for our last concert in this year 2022. On the 13th of December, from 18:00, in the Playground in A Lab, we are presenting the fabulous Dutch-American signer Katharine Dain, closing this year with Berio’s Sequenza III and Ariel by an English composer Jonathan Dove.
As Katharine decribes: ‘Berio’s Sequenza III for voice, written for his wife Cathy Berberian, is one of the iconic vocal pieces of the 20th century, instantaneously exploding the possibilities and expectations of the human voice and its expressive power. Although its theatricality and virtuosity had an immediate impact on other composers (who began incorporating similar extended techniques into their own pieces) and singers (who found themselves performing sounds they never had been asked to make in public), it’s a very particular and individual piece as well, reflecting the unique personality of Berberian.
Each singer who performs it has to make it their own – using their own range of expressivity (and there are as many vocal sounds as there are human bodies, throats, and souls) while also respecting the specificity and depth of the score. As a result, no two performances are alike.
Jonathan Dove’s Ariel sets famous texts from Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Ariel – not exactly human, alternately joyful and harsh and magical from one moment to the next – has inspired many adaptations, musical and otherwise, that use the strangeness and uniqueness of the human voice to explore facets of the character. Although Dove’s sound-world is very different than Berio’s, both pieces rely on the uniqueness of a singer’s vocal range and color to bring across an entirely individual character, recognizably human at some moments, entirely a world apart at others. ‘

November concert is around the corner!
8th of November, from 18:00 in A Lab
With the success of our first concert we are so excited to present the next one. Safe the date! On the second Tuesday of November – the 8th, from 18:00 in A Lab, Amsterdam, amazing double bass virtuoso, Dario Calderone, is performing Voyage Started from Stefano Scodanibbio and Luciano Berio’s Sequenza XIVb.
Each piece has a captivating character and can take the listener to a totally different world. Scobanibbio’s ‘Voyage Started’ is the first of four pieces in his own album ‘Voyage that never ends’ making it the beginning of an unbeliable sonic journey. The piece it self sounds as a ritualistic chant. Berio’s Sequenza XIVb for Double Bass enlarges the musical experience by enriching the number of rhytms, melodics and sounds that can one instrument perform.

Let’s pause for a moment and immerse ourselves into amazing music full of different sounds, feelings and emotions!

Come to our first autumn reset performance!
11th of October, from 18:00 in A Lab
Mark your calendar! On the second Tuesday of October – the 11th, from 18:00 in A Lab, Amsterdam, we are starting our autumn series Auditory Reset 2022. A wonderful Dutch violinist, Jellantsje de Vries, is going to perfom two exceptional pieces by two eminent composers – Luciano Berio’s Sequenza VIII and Three Higher Places from John Luther Adams.
Jellantsje comments: “These works form two opposites, sprouting from the same source: one note. In Three High Places this is in a hushed way, as if it has always existed and every day in the same way, calm and unruffled.
In Sequenza VIII, on the contrary, it is fiery and capricious, as if it could change direction, deform or explode every time.“

Let’s pause for a moment and immerse ourselves into amazing music full of different sounds, feelings and emotions!
